The education “Living the diversity – Education for social justice” held

In the process of implementing the project ‘KEEP STEP: Education of Roma children and youth for the sustainable development of the community’ (O)DRŽI KORAK: Obrazovanjem romske djece i mladih do održivog razvoja zajednice), during 29th and 30th March and 5th and 6th April 2019 the education “Living the diversity – Education for social justice” was held in the premises of the Elementary School “Antun Nemčić Gostovinski” Koprivnica.

The pedagogue and the social pedagogue from the Elementary School Fran Koncelak Drnje, the social pedagogue from the Elementary School “Antun Nemčić Gostovinski” Koprivnica, the kindergarten teacher and the pedagogue of the Kindergarten Tratinčica, representatives of the Public library “Fran Galović” Koprivnica, representatives of the Roma Association Step by Step (Udruga Roma Korak po Korak) and fifteen class teachers from the above mentioned partner schools participated in the education.

The Director of the Open University Step by Step, Ms Sanja Brajković and Ms Maša Komadina were the trainers at the education “Living the diversity – Education for social justice”.

The education is one of the planned activities of the project ‘KEEP STEP: Education of Roma children and youth for the sustainable development of the community’, intended for educators and other professionals. The aim of the education is understanding social relationships and raising awareness of personal stereotypes and prejudices as limitations to personal and professional growth and recognizing how socio-economic initial state affects education, employment and success in life.
